A website must have a lot of links back to it and even better when they come from related websites. Related web sites are not necessarily those of your competitors although they could be.

A good back link back to your website would be from a related website to your product or service. For example, if you were an ice cream shop, a good link to your site could be from a dairy farmer.A web publisher monitors the performance of a web site or blog and constantly ‘tweaks’ it to reflect the most current keywords relating to the subject of the web site or blog.

These “tweakings” come from studying the raw access logs on a server or from another similar programme. All web publishers constantly review their web sites statistics.

These are the guidelines as to how well, or badly, a web site is performing. Most web publishers also do audio clips for inclusion on the web site or blog and many also do short video clips to add to the website or blog. These video clips are then distributed through video directories (like UTube Vimeo, etc) for greater exposure around the web so more people find your website.

Getting more people to view your website is called driving traffic to your web site and is absolutely essential if a web site isn’t just to become more cyber junk. Driving traffic to a web site through good search engine optimisation (SEO) is also essential if a web site or blog if it is to gain exposure to the World Wide Web community.
